Those products are not miniature Amazon Kindles. Their connection to Kindle comes from software, not from the display or the manufacturer.
Current usage is broader. A 2026 New York Times Wirecutter review uses “purse Kindle” when discussing tiny XTEINK readers, which are E Ink devices rather than LCD Android players. Search results also mix the phrase with literal purses, cases and shopping accessories.
So “Is it a tiny Kindle?” is the wrong first question. Small size plus a book page does not prove Kindle hardware, Kindle-library access or even an E Ink screen.
