Most e-readers are built around a larger screen. XTEINK X3 takes a different approach: it makes E-Ink small enough to carry with the things already in your pocket or bag.

The X3 has a 3.7-inch display, weighs 58g, and is 5.1mm thick. It uses physical page-turn buttons and a magnetic Pogo Pin charging cable. It does not have a front light or touchscreen.

Two adhesive magnetic rings are included, but fit can still depend on the phone and case you use.

That focus comes with deliberate limits. The current specification says X3 works with the XTEINK official app and does not support third-party apps. If your reading depends on a particular bookstore app, subscription service, or Android app, confirm your workflow before buying.

How small is the X3 in everyday use?

For short reading sessions, that may be a fair exchange. For long novels, detailed diagrams, manga, or documents designed for a larger page, a bigger screen may be more comfortable.

Screen and controls: what you gain and give up

The official X3 specification lists 259 PPI. That describes how densely the display’s pixels are packed; actual text layout still depends on the file, font, and firmware.

X3 uses physical page-turn buttons. It also supports gyroscope-based shake-to-turn. Readers who prefer tactile controls may like being able to move through a book without tapping a screen.

Files, storage, and charging

The current official format list includes EPUB and TXT for documents, JPG and BMP for images, and BIN for fonts. The box includes a 16GB microSD card, and the product specification lists expansion up to 256GB.

PDF, Kindle DRM, and Libby are not listed in the current official format table. That does not justify guessing about every possible workaround; buyers who depend on those formats or services should confirm the current workflow before choosing X3.

Official X3 content says books can be transferred from the mobile app or a computer. Because transfer steps and firmware can change, use the current X3 User Guide for setup rather than an old tutorial.

X3 uses a magnetic Pogo Pin connection, and the matching cable is included. It does not use USB-C. If carrying a dedicated cable is a deal-breaker, X3 is probably not the right reader for you.

The battery is rated at 650mAh. Runtime depends on reading time, wireless use, settings, and firmware, so check the current product page for the latest stated test conditions.

Who should choose the XTEINK X3?

• You want a highly portable reading device in your daily carry.
• You mainly read local EPUB or TXT files.
• You prefer physical buttons to touchscreen navigation.

XTEINK X3 or X4?

If you are comparing X3 and X4, start with the tradeoff rather than the model number. X3 has the smaller 3.7-inch display and uses magnetic Pogo Pin charging. X4 has a larger 4.3-inch display and uses USB-C. X3 is the clearer choice when minimum size and easy everyday carry are your priorities.
